As an active partner in the LiPLANET project, EMIRI organised last July, 1st, a Webinar entitled ‘LiPLANET: Supporting the European lithium battery cell manufacturers’.

The aim of the LiPLANET Network is to create a European innovation and production ecosystem and reinforce the position of the European Union (EU) in the Lithium battery cell manufacturing market. For that, as part of the Horizon 2020 programme, the European Commission funded the two-year LiPLANET project to lay the foundation for establishing the network. Almost two years later, the structures for a sustainable network have been established and the LiPLANET Network is up and running as an Association in founding.

This LiPLANET Webinar provided an overview of the LiPLANET ambition by Professor Arno Kwade, project coordinator, and presented the key activities that have been carried out within the first 18 months of the project. More concretely, the webinar introduced the setting-up of the LiPLANET Expert Groups, the elaboration of the roadmap that is leading the Network path, the agreed Round Robin test protocols and the created training sessions. These sessions were led by the LiPLANET project members: Konrad Bendzuck from Technische Universität Braunschweig, Roman Korzynietz from VDI/VDE-IT, Katja Fröhlich from AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH and Dimitra Maleka from EIT Innoenergy. In addition, one of our pilot lines and founding members of the Association, Aitor Villaverde from CIC EnergiGUNE, presented his expectations of the LiPLANET Network. To wrap up, Professor Arno Kwade closed the session with a presentation on the next steps for the Association.

More than 170 people attended this webinar. If you missed it, you can rewatch the session here: LiPLANET Network Webinar 1 July 2021 – YouTube
