Who we are

EMIRI catalyses public private interactions and ensures that public innovation programs do contribute to protecting & reinforcing the industrial sector of Advanced Materials for low carbon energy.

Since 2012, EMIRI – the Energy Materials Industrial Research Initiative – represents about 60 organizations (industry, research, associations) active in Advanced Materials Technologies for clean and sustainable energy & mobility. The association contributes to industrial leadership ofdevelopers, producers and key users of advanced materials by shaping innovation, manufacturing and energy policy framework at European level.

In the frame of Horizon 2020, EMIRI closely collaborated with the European Commission to develop an Innovation Pillar on advanced Materials & nanotech for clean energy & clean mobility technologies. More recently, EMIRI has been instrumental in setting up BATT4EU, the European Partnership under Horizon Europe on Batteries. EMIRI keeps proposing an updated multi-annual technology roadmap focused on advanced materials innovations for clean and sustainable energy and mobility technologies, contributing to achieve the EU net-zero carbon ambition by 2050.
