Brussels, 26 April 2021 – We are happy to announce that Eric Peeters, Global Director of Sustainability, Performance Materials & Coatings at Dow, was elected as the new Chairman of EMIRI during the last Steering Committee meeting. Eric Peeters is a Chemical Engineer with an outstanding career of almost 30 years within the field of advanced materials. Besides his current position at Dow, he is also a member of the Board at the American Cleaning Institute and member of the Investment Committee at Qbic. Eric will replace his predecessor and representative of Umicore, Egbert Lox, who has recently started a new stage in his life with his retirement. During our last General Assembly meeting, we bid a fond farewell to Egbert and we thanked him for the great job done as a key contributor to the Initiative since its creation in 2012. Once again, we use this post to thank Egbert Lox and to congratulate Eric Peeters on the new position!
