On October 7th, the Battery 2030+ Annual Meeting – Empowering Green Innovation was held online. As an active partner of the project, EMIRI was responsible for the organisation of this event that counted more than 250 attendees.
Our Managing Director, Philippe Jacques, as the moderator of the session, opened the Annual Meeting with a warm welcome to all the participants and guest speakers. He introduced the coordinator of Battery 2030+, Prof. Kristina Edström, who briefly presented the aim of the project. The Annual Meeting also counted with the presence of Aymard de Touzalin, Deputy Head of Unit – DG Connect who shared the vision of the European Commission and Bo Normark and Ilka Dalwigk from EBA250 who brought very valuable insights of the European Battery Market and Industry.
During the Annual Meeting, we had the opportunity to inaugurate the Battery 2030+ Excellence Seminars: a series of seminars where top speakers are invited to give keynote presentations about batteries. We had the privilege of listening to Prof. Hong Li from the Chinese Academy of Science presenting the latest progress of batteries and future plans for the next 5 years in China. Our second Excellence Seminar guest speaker was Prof. Shirley Meng from the University of California San Diego who presented the recent progress in lithium metal batteries enabled by electrolyte design and pressure control. These 2 talks will be temporarily available on Battery 2030+ website.
All the projects under the Battery2030+ umbrella (BIG-MAP, Hidden, Spartacus, Bat4ever, Instabat and Sensibat) also actively contributed to this annual meeting. We had the chance to get an overview of the aim and activities carried out by all the projects.
To finalise the meeting Philippe Jacques wrapped up the session by highlighting the most relevant outputs of the day.
In addition to all the talks, in order to make the meeting more engaging and interactive, a short quiz was proposed to the audience with a final gift to the top 3 winners: a delicious source of energy that we all love (chocolate)!
